Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the Latvia Travel Tales mobile app. By using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Who provides the app

Latvia Travel Tales is the operator of this app. Contact: info@latviatraveltales.lv.

What the app does

Latvia Travel Tales is a travel guide for Latvia. You get:

• Information about places, routes, and points of interest
• Audio guides in Latvian, English, and Russian
• Walking, driving, and cycling navigation
• Offline content for downloaded regions
• A personal account for favorites, visit history, and settings

Some content is free. Some is part of a paid subscription (see below).

Your account

To save favorites, sync across devices, or buy a subscription, you need an account. By creating one you confirm that:

• You're at least 13 years old
• The info you give us is accurate
• You'll keep your login credentials safe

If you sign in with Apple or Google, those companies handle authentication. We never see your password.

We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms - for example, accounts used to scrape content, abuse the service, or violate the law. If we do this, we'll tell you why if we're allowed to.

Subscriptions (Latvia Travel Tales Pro)

The premium subscription unlocks all places, all routes, and all audio guides.

Billing. When you buy a subscription, Apple charges your App Store account (or Google charges your Play account on Android). The price you see on the paywall is what gets charged.

Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (yearly, unless stated otherwise) at the same price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.

Cancelling. You cancel in your device store, not in the app:

• iOS: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Latvia Travel Tales → Cancel
• Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions

If you cancel, you keep access until the current period ends. We don't get charged after that.

Refunds. Apple and Google handle all refunds. If you want one, request it through the store you bought from. We can't issue refunds ourselves.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel your subscription first, then delete the account.

Price changes. If we raise the price, Apple or Google will tell you and ask you to confirm before renewing.

Content and intellectual property

The text, audio, photos, and design in the app belong to Latvia Travel Tales or are licensed to us. You can use them through the app for your own travel. You can't copy, resell, or redistribute them.

Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Data Commons Open Database License. Map tiles come from MapTiler. Audio guides are recorded for Latvia Travel Tales.

Your own data - favorites, downloaded regions, custom routes - stays yours.

Things you agree not to do

• Break the law while using the app
• Try to hack, decompile, or reverse-engineer it
• Scrape or copy content in bulk
• Pretend to be someone else
• Interfere with other people's use of the service
• Use the navigation in a way that's unsafe (see below)

Navigation and safety

The navigation in this app is a guide. It's not perfect.

• Follow real-world signs and traffic laws first
• Don't use the app while driving - pull over or hand it to a passenger
• In remote areas, carry a paper map and tell someone where you're going
• Routes are calculated from map data that may be out of date

We're not responsible for what happens if you ignore real-world conditions to follow the app.

No warranty

We provide the app "as is". We try hard to make it work, but we don't promise it'll be available 24/7, free of bugs, or that the information is always current. If the app stops working, your only remedy is to stop using it (and cancel your subscription).

Limit of our liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages - things like lost profits, lost data, or damage caused by getting lost while following a route. If we are liable for something direct, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months (or €50, whichever is greater).

This doesn't limit liability for things the law says can't be limited - death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

Changes to these terms

If we change something important, we'll show a notice in the app. If you keep using the app after the change, that means you accept it. If you don't, stop using the app and cancel your subscription.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. If a dispute can't be resolved by talking, it goes to Latvian courts. If you're a consumer, this doesn't override the consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
